PromoTeam catches its breath: the first set of crowdloans is over, more to come. May-August 2021 Report.
Finally, we’re able to report about our activities, because nothing more important requires our attention, and it’s time to chill a bit. 4 out of 5 parachain slots were secured by the projects supported by us: Karura, Bifrost, Shiden and Khala. In this article, you’ll find a small report about our recent crowdloan activities, our new partners and our plans for the future. We’re preparing for the next set and we’re ready to onboard more partners.
Our contribution to crowdloans
In PromoTeam we think that our main strength is our community. In the last 3 months, our tweets earned 2,570,000 impressions on two accounts, and we got over 1,500 hours of watch time on our YouTube channel. Almost every Polkadot influencer follows us, and we’re glad to have a small army of friends who watch our content daily.
Thus, it was expected that we would become one of the top referral contributors. We’re not whales, but we have whale supporters. Our community members contributed more than 12,000 KSM to the crowdloans — that’s the top 5 result, comparing to other referrals. The new crowdloan bot
To make it easier to navigate in the world of parachains, we developed our own bot which has information about all major projects. We gather everything you might need in one place — general information, tokenomics, crowdloan status, the amount of KSM collected, and all important links to the projects’ media. Currently, @crowdloanbot (https://t.me/crowdloanbot) has more than 5k subscribers, it’s integrated into more than 50 telegram chats of the Polkadot ecosystem. We plan to add more projects and we’re open to suggestions!
Our graphics department update
We got a new member Joaji, a senior 3D and 2D designer. With his involvement, we got to a new level of design quality. Joaji created a special 3D model of the Polkadot scheme with the Relay chain and parachains, and we shared this model with the whole community for common use under the Creative Commons Attribution License. You can check it and download it here on the site. We’ll be happy to see it being used.
Also, now we have our own mascot!
Every day during the crowdloan auctions we posted the updated infographics with the results of the current auction, based on statistics collected by our tools. Every post with infographics had more than 5k views. See the example here —
Stickers

NFTs for everyone
Since NFT has become such a hot trend, we don’t want to wait on the sidelines. The first NFT we’re going to issue is for all community members who contributed more than 5 KSM via the PromoTeam referral link. It will be a commemorative NFT and we hope you’ll like it. It will be distributed the next week.
But we’re not done! In the near future, we plan to launch a large NFT event with one of the top NFT projects in the Kusama space. Details will be disclosed very soon, stay tuned! It will surely feature Para-Chan, but that’s only the beginning, and it will have some pretty interesting additions to our collections that will keep many people hyped.
Polkadot Ambassador for Russia
Currently, Alex is the Head Ambassador of Polkadot in Russia. Vlady also recently became an Ambassador, and 3 of our members are the candidates for becoming Ambassadors. All of us actively contribute all types of educational content and promotional materials to the ecosystem.
Karura is one of the most exciting projects of the Kusama ecosystem, we are the old supporters and friends of Karura. We really wanted to help them to win the first slot and we always stay in touch with Dan and Robin. Even though we’re not officially involved in moderating the Russian Acala\Karura community chats, we helped to solve many questions and had many Karura-related discussions in our Telegram chat — https://t.me/PromoTeamRus. It’s one of the most active chats in the Russian Polkadot community. Also, we did a lot of translations and some original articles, even Huobi with 300K+ followers asked us if they can repost them. These 2 are the most interesting ones, and we’re pretty sure that we wrote the most detailed guide to parachain auctions and the projects that participated in the first set.
Overall, PromoTeam invited to the Karura Crowdloan more than 225 contributors that brought around 3,000 KSM.
Sota, Alex, Maarten and the entire Astar/Shiden team did an amazing job. We wanted this project to win the 2 slot, but instead, it got the third one. We really think that in terms of technologies it’s one of the most advanced projects in the whole ecosystem. Alex and Vlady were one of the first ambassadors, validators and were among the biggest contributors for the Shiden and Astar networks. We have been supporting the Russian community of Astar/Shiden for more than 1,5 years. In the crowdloan campaign, we mentioned Shiden in 2 videos —
We also mentioned Shiden dozens of times on our resources — Twitter, Telegram, Medium, YouTube, Discord.
We have a very long history of our partnership relationships with Khala, Alex and Vlady were among the first supporters and contributors of Phala. The first video interview of Marvin Tong was posted on our YouTube channel
it is one of the most popular videos about Phala on YouTube. And of course, we did a lot of coverage for Khala during the crowdloan campaign. Khala became the 4th parachain of Kusama.
It is a very special and personal project for all of the PromoTeam members, especially for Alex. He is the creator of the Bifrost ambassador program and the Head of the ambassador program from the beginning. Thanks to Bifrost ambassadors and the community, especially the very strong Chinese community, Bifrost won the auction in a fierce battle with Basilisk and secured the 5th slot.
Currently, Bifrost is the only project that will connect the same chain to Kusama and Polkadot relay chains. We were the top 1 not Chinese contributor for Bifrost and invited more than 300 contributors with more than 6,000 KSM. Bifrost collected 143,000 KSM in total, more than Khala in the 4th auction. It was a really amazing competition between Bifrost and Basilisk. Some call this fight — The war of memes, here is one of them.
Conclusion
The main goal of PromoTeam is to promote the whole ecosystem and its projects in the crypto space and we think that we do a really good job. We are happy to be a part of this movement. We work with pretty much every big project in the space and we’re open to new partnerships. Together we’ll be able to do much more in the future.
Every project adds some value to the big pot.
